Granite
Granite is an excellent material which is suitable for any countertop application. Granite is a very hard stone, which means it is incredibly scratch resistant. Granite is also heat and scorch resistant. Granite's natural beauty is one of it's most compelling features. The natural patterns give granite a character which man-made stones simply can't match. However, as a natural material, granite is porous and requires sealing every so often. The duration between sealing applications can vary depending on various factors such as granite color, application, and the type of sealant used.
Marble
Marble has been used in home construction for ages. Reknowned for it's beauty and elegance, marble gives any room a nice, classical feel. Marble is also a hard, durable stone similar to granite. However, while marble is a good choice for low traffic areas such as bathrooms, it is not suitable for kitchen applications. This is due to the fact that marble is a calcite based stone, therefore any acids (such as lemon juice) which spill on the surface will permanently "etch" the stone. Marble, like granite, is also porous and requires sealing every so often.
Quartz countertops are engineered from quartz crystals, one of the hardest materials on Earth. As a result, Quartz is a the perfect choice for countertops in any application. In addition to a wide selection of colors, Quartz countertops are also highly scratch-resistant, heat-resistant, and scorch-resistant. They are also an excellent alternative to granite because they are solid surfaces. That means that you don't have to worry about sealing and resealing quartz countertops. If you want a low maintenance countertop solution, Quartz is definitely the way to go.
We carry a large selection of Quartz brands. You can visit the manufacturer websites below to view samples and collect more information.
